on solitude & universes

solitude is the place our individual realities grow. it is our inner landscape, where our conscious and subconscious meet, where our unique self forms, wether we are paying attention or not. our solitude will reveal to us our own reality. a jumping off place to truly be known by others. our solitude will reveal to us our inhibitions and our errors, our desires and our strengths. our solitude will give us the map for the universe inside ourselves. our connection with others will give us a map of the world we all share.
current technologies mostly offer us alientation. how can they offer us solitude? or geniune connection, rooted in an uprooting of the self? how can we solitude as a weapon against bad systems? alienation is a weapon against humanity itself.

there are visions of the future where the mind is fully explored- where we can upload our consiousneyaddayadda for ever and ever and eveyaddayadda. if this is the world we’re going to be living in, one where i can use AI to create an entire universe based on neopets and live there by myself for as many hundred years as i want, we should reconsider what it means to invent a world. and consider what it means to let others in.
there is a version of this future in which we all go at it alone; we forget how to touch eachother and live as singular gods.
there is another version of this future in which we go at it together; we use our interactions to invent brand new worlds. worlds that will sustain our life on earth. instead of reiterating on versions of the same, we burst the cycles by introducing bigger unknowns. then we have evidence that someone else could understand us, that there is something we can both learn, together.
